HFTD Juniors: 7 to 11 year olds rehearsing a scene for camera
JUNIORS · AGES 7–11 · WEEKLY

Real craft. Still all the fun.

Truthful screen acting for young actors ready to grow: listening, reacting, making bold choices and feeling at home on camera and on stage.

THE JUNIORS PHILOSOPHY

Where young actors find their craft.

Juniors is where real technique starts, without losing the creativity that made them love acting in the first place. With a strong focus on truthful screen performance, students learn to listen, react, make individual choices and grow in confidence on camera and on stage.

“Her audition tape looked very professional and stood out to us. We are very selective about who we take on, and it is clear she is getting excellent training at HFTD Academy.”

FAQS

Questions parents ask.

How much does it cost?

£56 a month for 90-minute classes and £65 a month for 2-hour classes, paid in 12 equal monthly payments. Your first class is free and siblings get 10% off.

Does my child need previous acting experience?

Not at all. Juniors brings complete beginners together with young actors who already have professional experience, and our tutors make sure every student is challenged at the right level within the same supportive ensemble.

How are the Juniors age groups organised?

It varies by Academy. Some locations split Juniors into smaller groups, such as 6–9 and 10–12, so scripts and training can be tailored more closely. Exact ages are on each Academy's booking page.

What does a typical class involve?

No two weeks are the same: screen acting with current scripts, scene work, self-tapes, improvisation, stagecraft and audition technique, alongside bigger film and performance projects through the year.

How can I see my child's progress?

Students work on camera regularly and high-resolution footage comes home throughout the year, so you can watch their performances and see how their work develops over time.

Can HFTD help with professional acting opportunities?

Yes. Juniors are on camera every few weeks across different scripts, characters, genres and tones, so a real brief is nothing new. For students who want to work professionally, we guide families on agents, self-tapes, headshots, Spotlight and auditions, regularly welcome agents and industry professionals into HFTD, and run discounted headshot days in summer and winter. And when a brief lands on Thursday night for Monday, 1-2-1 self-tape filming is available with a coach your child already knows, edited and ready to send.
